Details
This enlarged Brain Stem Anatomy Model is designed as a 2-part sagittally sectioned model to help students of neuroscience up-close study of one of the least understood areas of the human brain. The brain stem with its primary importance of maintaining basic vital functions in the central nervous system is the target in many neurodegenerative diseases. Since the functional changes that accompany many of these diseases are poorly understood, hands on study of the anatomy of the brain stem is a prerequisite for developing therapeutic strategies for treatments.
The model can be separated into 2 parts, and shows in detail the structural characteristics of various parts of the brainstem, and the positions of the brain nerves in and out of the brainstem. Teaching content: three parts of the medulla oblongata, pontine, and midbrain are shown, followed by the interbrain. Rostral medulla showed: anterior median fissure, lateral groove, cone, pyramidal intersection, olive body, posterior median groove, rod-shaped body, wedge-shaped nodule, lower rhomboid fossa. The hypoglossal nerve, glossopharyngeal nerve, lost nerve, and accessory nerve were shown. The pontine shows the basilar artery groove, the upper part of the diamond-shaped fossa, and the trigeminal nerve, abductor nerve, facial nerve, and acoustic nerve. Midbrain: Cerebral feet, fossa fossa, tetrad (superior inferior colliculus). And showed oculomotor nerve and pulley nerve. The upper part of the midbrain is the mesencephalon, and there is an optic nerve at the junction.
Number key is included. Ideal for advanced anatomical study by neurological students as well as patient demonstration.
